The blue glaze is a high-temperature glaze made by imitating the Xuande gemstone blue glaze. In the "Taocheng Chronicle Stele", it is called "Imitated Jiqing of Xuan Kiln ". Blue glaze began in the Yuan Dynasty and was an important variety of Ming and Qing official kilns. From the perspective of its use, on the one hand, together with yellow glaze, red glaze, and white glaze, it is a special glaze color for sacrificial vessels in the tombs in the suburbs. " Green is used for Yuan Qiu, Qi Gu, and Changyu, yellow is used for Fang Ze, red is used for sun altar, white is used for moon altar, and yellow is used for Sheji and Xian Nong", it can be seen that blue glaze is used exclusively for offering sacrifices to the sky; on the other hand, blue glaze is indispensable for rewards, displays, and study room decoration.. For example, according to "Qingdang": "(On the second day of September in the fourth year of Yongzheng year), it was ordered: to make wood samples according to this section and hand it over to Nian Xiyao to make Jiqing and Jihong vases", "(Yongzheng tenth year, 22nd,February) The Minister of Internal Affairs Haiwang was gave an order: You can burn some of the high-footed bowls of Jihong, Jiqing, Yellow, and White... to be used as a reward to the King of Mongolia."
